FitaCola (adhesive tape) is a creative duo. Carlos Quitério and Graça Santos produce collages, assemblages and some mixed-media works all by hand. Nothing in our portfolio is assembled digitally, only color enhancements for the scanned artworks to match its real colors, and print / duplication set-up.
We do believe that hand made assemblage is something that is being forgotten and progressively out of use nowadays, due to the easy access of digital images and software for image manipulation, and we love to preserve the method of cut and paste, but physically. We like to explore and go find out resources like old and magazines, prospects, books, maps, etc.. We love to collect it, but instead of keeping them in a closet or forgotten, we re-assemble and give them life in shape of artworks with a spontaneous, unprojected touch.
